The research for the documentary

For three of the interviews we text them asking them so that we could get the answer straight away.

My text...
"Hiya:) would you be able to let me interview you about reece for my media coursework? I just need to record you answering some questions. Pleaseeee:Dxx"

We had to phone up banks and see if we could get an interview with anyone that worked there. We searched numbers over the interview and everywhere. Even though we made around 12 calls most of the replies involved "security and privacy reasons" so it made it harder. We then started searching accountants. We got a list of accountants of the internet.

We rang some and emailed the others.

This is what i said in the email...

"Hi im nikki and i am a student at Weatherhead High School.
I am currently finishing A level media and i am filming a documentary on finance and how its changed from the past.
My group and i were wondering if you had anyone that we could interview so that we can get the best grade possible.
We will be interviewing them with questions such as how money is seen differently since the recession? and how money is valued differently than how it use to be?
This information will not be passed on to anyone else as it is A level coursework, we will be able to show you permission from our school and they will not have to answer anything that they dont feel comfortable answering.
The interview will only be around 30 seconds and we have around 3 or 4 questions that need asking.
If this isnt possible would you be able to send us any information that we could use anyway please.
If this is possible could you send us dates and times that would be better for you.
thank you."

We then found someone that is in the money buisness as he was a teacher in someone in my group's dads work so it was easy to get access as the father asked him for us letting him know what would happen and we then got a reply.

Finding locations for the interviews was quite simple as half of them were already placed. For example it made sense to do the fathers interview in the bedroom because it shows what the child has got and as its mostly about his boy it links it in. For the grandparent we will use her home because all of her things that she had were in there such as the ornaments which made sense to have in the mise-en-scene. For the teenager the bedroom will be the best place because its got everything that she uses and has got which will give the audience a think to make their own decision on whether they feel this is because of greed. For the banker interview we will have to try and find an offlice with all his equipment in so that he can show what he does in his job. We don't know for sure if this will be possible and will have to see what we can get available when we are there. For the Voxpops we had a choice of anywhere to go but Liverpool seemed to be the most popular choice for people to go so we are deciding to go there and if anymore are needed Liscard will be our second choice.

So that we could all do things together we all needed to go through our timetable to see what we had and when we had it to compare frees and spare time so we could get together. This was quite difficult because we never all had the same free time.

These are the still cutaways we found mostly by Google images and will go be throughout the documentary.

This is the archive material we have found of the internet mostly from Youtube.
